TRUSTEES
Sir Peter Rigby
Sir Peter Rigby is one of the UK’s most respected and successful business leaders and a dedicated philanthropist.
Playing an active role in the communities in which his companies operate is very important to Sir Peter and he has Chaired the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership, is Chair of The Sir Peter Rigby Charitable Trust and a Trustee of The Rigby Foundation and of The Fly Harrier Trust. In 2002 Sir Peter was knighted for his contribution to IT and business, while in 2021 he became the first British businessman ever to be awarded the Legion d'honneur.
James Rigby
James joined the Rigby Group family business in 1994. Today, he is Co-CEO of the Rigby Group whilst also heading up SCC, the Group’s technology services business, overseeing its operations in the UK, France, Spain, Romania and Vietnam.
James is passionate about enabling employees to grow their skills, investing in people and communities, and ensuring the preservation of family values at the heart of business. James is a fluent French speaker and as well as being a Trustee of both The Rigby Foundation and The Sir Peter Rigby Charitable Trust, he is a Trustee of the United by 2022 Birmingham charity that works to ensure the legacy of the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
George Campion
George Campion is Chairman of the Audit, Risk and Remuneration Committee for the Rigby Group. Before joining the Rigby Group, George spent over 30 years at Arthur Andersen/Deloitte, holding several client facing and management roles including Senior Partner in Birmingham and partner in charge of the tax practices in Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Outside the company, from 2010 to 2018 he held the position of Midlands Chairman, Regional Advisory Board for Aon Limited. George is currently Chairman of a regional law firm based in Stratford-upon-Avon. He also actively runs his own long-established real estate investment business and is Chairman and major shareholder in a merchant services business based in Shropshire.
Judy Groves
Judy Groves is the Marketing Director of the Rigby Group. Before joining the Rigby Group, Judy held senior positions with Deloitte and Edge & Ellison and also ran her own business working with some of the UK's leading entrepreneurs.
Judy is a Director of the Women of the Year Luncheon and Awards, which recognise women’s achievements in business and life, as well as the Marketing Group for the new Academy for Young Engineers. Judy has also held a number of other advisory and non-executive positions and sits on the CBI Regional Council.

Sonia Chhatwal
Executive Director
The day-to-day operations of our work are led by our Executive Director, Sonia Chhatwal, who began her work with The Sir Peter Rigby Charitable Trust in September 2023. Sonia is responsible for supporting the Trustees in their strategic planning and managing relationships with charity partners.
She brought with her more than 25 years’ experience of working with renowned corporate foundations, leading charities and blue-chip companies.
Sue Benson
Administrator
As Administrator Sue provides support for finance, administration and legal compliance.
Sue has had a varied career in the education and non-profit sectors including 10 years working for the Association of Charitable Foundations.
